Helen joined Rural Support as a volunteer in 2013. Helen grew up on a dairy farm and now works full time on the family farm with her husband. Helen’s career was in banking and as a result she has a good understanding of finance and book keeping. Working full time in the family business she deals with customers, answering the telephone, book keeping and dealing with the financial side of the business. This has provided Helen with a clearer understanding of all that is involved in making a business a success. Throughout time Helen has found herself to be a listening ear to many people who have shared their anxieties and worries with her.
Helen enjoys being able to listen to people and provide them with the reassurance that Rural Support will try its best to help them. She finds that sometimes people just need a listening ear and someone to share a problem with as quite often callers say thank you at the end of the call.
