Main areas of volunteer work:

Helpline / Outreach

Elaine joined Rural Support as a volunteer in 2014.  Elaine worked in Ulster Bank Ltd for approximately 13 years.  She worked in many customer service focused roles in different branches with ongoing training.  She enjoyed the interaction with customers and also her involvement with manning the Ulster Bank stand at the Balmoral Show.  She gained confidence, initiative and skills in developing relationships with individuals.  Elaine was also a full time mum.  Through her career and personal life she has learnt to be a friendly, approachable person, to work as part of a team and to enjoy the opportunity of learning new skills.  Elaine now works in the local High School.  First as a classroom assistant to several pupils with medical problems and then to her present position as Resource Technician doing all resources for teaching staff.  She was a member of the YFCU and took on many roles in her local club as well as being PRO for the Co.Down Committee.  She was a finalist in the MacranaFeirme (Irish equivalent of YFCU) competition in Co.Tipperary.

Elaine enjoys meeting new people.  She enjoys the training provided and would like to get more involved with the outreach & promotion of the organisation.
